Springtime tips for your Garage Door

With springtime right around the corner, a lot of people are going to start spring cleaning.  With the garage door being the largest entrance to your home, we are going to go over some tips to keep your door operating safely and smoothly. Today we are going to go over a few tips to help you out.

  • Test your sensors to ensure they are working correctly- one should be amber in color the other green
  • Learn how to operate the emergency release feature so that you know how to detach the garage door in an emergency- especially if you don’t have a backup battery opener
  • Prepare for vacations by unplugging your garage door opener, this will render all remote controls and pin pads useless- just don’t forget to plug it back in when you return
  • Avoid sharing your passcodes. If your passcodes ever become known to others, your safety and valuables are at risk- it’s never a good idea to give your codes out
  • Don’t leave your garage door partially open as it can allow pests, animals and debris in- no one wants a surprise visitor
